Kerio residents assured of an end to banditry

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has assured Kerio valley residents that security will be restored in the region.

He said the region which has been relatively calm for the last few months will continue to enjoy the peace.

Speaking at Kapsowar during a church fundraiser for AIC Kapsowar Township, the senator said the government is working to end the banditry menace in Kerio Valley region and added the state will not leave anything to chance.

Murkomen noted that cattle rustling coupled with banditry that is synonymous with Kerio Valley and has led to the loss of lives needs to come to an end once and for all and not just some few months of relative peace.

He added that once the banditry comes to an end Kerio valley residents will be able to take up economic development activities like the rest of Kenyans and live in peace.

The senator expressed his confidence in the government under the leadership of President William Ruto, that it will do everything within its power to restore normalcy in the region.

He noted that accomplices, sympathizers, financiers and perpetrators will no longer have a chance to exploit the situation and told them they should be ready to face the law.

Murkomen averred that no one should fall a victim to banditry anymore.
