President William Ruto has said Kenya is honored by the decision of the United Nations to expand its operations in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the move confirms Kenya’s strategic position not only in the region but also globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe <\/a>will do whatever it takes to ensure that the new facility commences and is completed within the schedule set by the UN,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The facility will include a 9,000-capacity conference center and state-of-the-art offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President was speaking on Wednesday at State House Nairobi when he hosted the Director-General of the United Nations Office Nairobi (UNON) Zainab Hawa Bangura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms Bangura said the project will be completed within 18 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
