Pop singer , song writer and television presenter Mans Zelmerlow is expected in Kenya this weekend on a a three-day charity tour of Kenswed Organization ,a foundation that empowers vulnerable youths in parts of Africa, based in Ngong , Kajiado County .
The ‘Fire In The Rain ‘ hit maker, a founding member of Zelmerlow & Bjorkman Foundation -alongside former world No 4 tennis player Jonas Bjorkman will be among a Swedish delegation who are also long time partners to the foundation will be in the country between September 29 and October 1.
A head of his visit , Zelmerlow clarified on KBF offering education to youth living in poverty .”Marginalized children and youth will receive education , they will get opportunities to develop their talents and they will be shown a way out of their marginalization. In this way , we do believe that the world becomes a better place for everyone to live in . That is why we started ZBF Foundation , ” he said .
Among the companies in the delegation are TePe , an oral health company ,Klinggruppen , clockworks and Qeep . They will be in Kenya for the launch of Kenswed Vocational Training Centre and Kenswed Dental Clinic , projects funded by KBF Foundation .
KBF Program Manager stated that Kenswed Academy started to enable children from needy background get education . “Kanswed Accademy started over 10 years ago to help youth from poor backgrounds access education . Kenswed Vocational Training College started about 2 years ago and seeks to offer Secondary Education graduates with skills to help them secure a livelihood. The Centre is also a hub for changing the mindset of the youth to believe in themselves and their ability to change their community . It always seems impossible until its done .” He said .
They will also visit Kenswed alumni working in and around Karen town and home visits to current students .
